I love blue my last Harley was blue (Super Glide). When the Colbalt came out I sold the Super Glide & bought this.

You are correct I have noticed with the right light some purple. If you look close at the rear of my saddlebag you can just see a hint of purple.

It was a hard toss-up between Colbalt Blue and Black Pearl for me. The BP sure looks purdy all shined up. But if I could not have had it I would not have been disappointed with the Colbalt.

When I picked up mine, the dealer had four colors in stock: black, black pearl, black cherry, and cobalt. I knew he only had one in black, and that was my original choice. Before I decided, I had the salesman wheel the black pearl bike outside into the sun, which helped my decision. For me, it was a toss-up between black and black pearl, with cobalt being a very close third.

Everyone has an opinion. Any Cobalt will have a hint of purple. Every Blue either leans toward purplish or greenish. The wheel it out into the sun is one of the best suggestions offered. While we're on opinions, I think the "denim" effect would be cool with the Olive green available on the ultra. Just my 2 cents.

I wish they offered the SG in Olive Pearl, but I guess black cherry would have to do.

Black cherry with some touches of the olive would be a sharp looker. Years ago, I redid a shovel bagger in Midnight Purple pearl and had my graphics guy redo the original AMF/Harley tank badges in turquoise, then we added sand colored Aztec graphics on the bags. It was sharp, I definitely miss that bike! the black cherry to olive have similar color values in contrast.

I like the Black Cherry Pearl sitting in my garage. The Pewter Denim would be my second choice. You have to see it in person to appreciate it.
