Question Change Springs On Progressive 440 Shocks??

I recently purchased a 2011 Road King Classic (another thread w/pics) and being “vertically challenged” with a 29” inseam and since 13” stock shocks are standard, I decided to put a pair of Progressive 440-4050 Heavy Duty shocks I had laying around from another prior scoot. I was 450+ pounds when I got them several years ago and now about 220 pounds. What used to be comfortable is now rough as a cob! I was thinking about getting a pair of Street Glide 12” shocks and then wondered if MAYBE Progressive could change the springs and make them normal duty instead of the heavy duty ones they are now.

Has anybody ever had Progressive change the springs and how did it go? Am I barking up the wrong tree about the springs, or should I just try to find a good used set of 12” SG OEM Harley shocks? Your thoughts??

Progessive will swap out the springs if you want, I bought the hd ones and they were way to hard for me, went to the standard spring and was much happier.

If you're in a hurry (who isn't in summer riding months) check off-road bike shops. They probably have equipment to swap out your springs. Then order the correct springs for you needs from Progressive and have them swapped locally, same day.

you can change to the standard spring for 13", but can not change them to 12" springs.

I emailed Progressive and am waiting to hear back from them. I've been searching the internet and read somewhere that they have 3 alternative for replacement springs - light, medium and heavy duty. Don't know if that true, but will ask them if I ever hear back.
