Default Went from Ultra to a Road King today......

Well, today I pulled the trigger on a new bike. I had a 2008 Ultra Classic that I traded for a 2011 Road King. The Classic was a great bike, and when I had it on the highway it was truly in it's element. Trouble was I found myself riding around 85 pct. city riding and 15 pct. highway. With 2 up around town the bike felt cumbersome and I felt myself not having the same feeling about riding as when I was on our soft tail. It was like I wasn't as "in control" as I felt on our soft tail. One ride on the new Road King brought those feelings back. The bike is amazingly nimble around town and still rock steady on the highway.
Now all I have to do is decide on if I am going to have it "boom" (see loud) like the Ultra. We have always been big believers in the louder the safer, I didn't take the Ultra out until I added the exhaust, intake and tuner. Coming home from the dealer today it was kind of nice being "quiet". I'm sure that will pass though!

My brother inlaw just bought a 2011 RKC & absolutely loves it. He was riding a Suzuki Blvd & all he keeps saying is there's no comparison. I just keep telling him he should have listened to me 3 yrs ago....Enjoy the bike as it's a nice ride!

Congrats on the King. As for the "boom", I know what you mean about enjoying the quiet for a while. I love the Monster Ovals on my Road King.
