What did you do with your front wheel setup?
Hey all,
I'm thinking I want to change out my front wheel on my RK. I do NOT want to sacrifice the comfort and solidity of the ride thought. I've heard from some that the bigger wheel does that. Wondering what direction to go. What are my options?
I'm thinking maybe just put a custom, sleeker frontnfender on the existing RK wheel, or going a bit bigger. Any thoughts?
What did you do, and tell me about how it feels while riding. Also a pic would be great. Loving this forum for help with my build.

I have been pondering the same thing, the one thing I am worried about it pot holes the roads here are not perfect and I would be pissed to have my brand new rim smashed up from a big pot hole, so I guess to piggyback my question would be how does a 21in rim and tire setups handle the big full speed impact of a pot hole

If you have a 09 and up FLH or FLT the 21" rim will make the front feel a little heavy but after one day after you get used to it you won't notice it that much. To improve handling on a 21" rim I reccommend Progressive's nitrogen charged fork tubes they will take a lot of the front brake dive that you get with the stock harley setup and also make the bike corner better. If you go to the 23" rim you do not have to cut the frame to get the correct trail just go to harley buy a set of the triple trees for the 09 and up three wheelers this only works for the 09 and up touring models. The three wheeler triple trees have a 3 degree rake bolt right up and makes the bike handle better with the 23' rim than the 21" rim. if you go with the 23" rim you will have to purchase a 23" radius fender as with the 21" rim you do not. Just enlongate the holes on the stock fender about a quarter inch and tilt the front fender as much as you can to the front when you tighten it down. Then tape a quarter inch nut on your tire and spin it if your stock fender dosent rub it won't rub when the tire swells from heat expansion. The advantage in going with the 23" rim is that you can run the 130/55-23 130 mm wide tire which is the same width as your stock tire, opposed to the 21" rim you run the 120mm wide tire 120/70-21 which is 10mm narrower.
