Default Question slip ons in regards to 2010 and 2011 bikes

Can someone tell me if my line of thinking is correct here?

I've noticed some vendors have slip ons just for the 2010 and 2011 bikes, Vance and Hines for example. My thinking is that these slip ons are a little more free flowing to compensate for the cat in the headpipe.

So if you plan on keeping your stock headpipe with the cat the 2010, 2011 version of the muffler would be the way to go.

Now if you change the headpipe out to say the Fuel Moto header or the Power Duals or even gut your oem headpipe does it stand to reason that the slip ons you'd want would be one of the pre-2010 variety?

I wouldn't mind changing out the headpipe perhaps but not looking for a substantial increase in volume.....my guess is that a Power Duals or Fuel Moto headpipe equipped with 2009 and earlier model slip ons would be a bit quieter than one with 2010 or 2011 model slip ons

Does that make sense or am I way off base here?

Someone evolve me if I am

I know some manufacturers categorize their parts on their websites that way, but I believe all V&H slip-ons will fit '95 - '11 model years. The Monster Ovals & Twin Slash Ovals will.

I put a 2009 headpipe and stock pipes on my 2010 UC with a slight increase in sound, Then I put Monsters Ovals on and the sound went to the low rumble I wanted.

I installed rush slip on, on my 10 UC when new, it sounded real good deep rumble, not to loud at 75 on the road. Change head pipes out too VH dresser duals, a little louder at slow speeds but really loud when climing a long grade! taking the cats out diff make it louder and you can tell that you lose a little bottom end power by the free flowing pipes. Could put smaller baffles in to make up for this, but then it would be quiter.

I dunno...I think they really market the 2010 and 2011 pipes separately because of the cat in the header....at least that is the impression that I get as some makers state that these version of the pipes are made to work with bikes that have the cat
