I would like HD to do water cooled heads like Kawasaki. Kawasaki uses the front mounted radiator but because it is smaller it flush mounts between the down tubes which are boxed tubes instead on round to stay narrower.

Look at a big Vulcan Twin. The radiator blends right in.

I just traded a liquid cooled RSV for my air cooled Ultra Classic 6 months ago. I'm just getting into this air cooled thing. Not ready to go back to liquid yet. And as far as problems with it: oil & filter changes and replaced the tires after 8K miles. Thats it. Purrs like a room full of tom cats licking sweet cream.

Water cooled equals engine longevity.. It will and has to happen, when, is the question..

The vrod has been such a hot seller, I can't see why they wouldn't incorporate that success to the rest of the line.

Seriously, I believe that they will come out with vrod sport tourer, so all you water cool enthusiasts will leave us Harley lovers alone.

If Harley doesn't bring its touring bikes into the modern age with liquid cooling, multi-valve OHC engines, a monoshock rear suspension with at least 4" of travel, and other 21st century (hell, even late 20th century) technology, and improve the QC, then I'm on my last Harley.

Keep the air-cooled motor on the barhopper bikes, but it's time for the Touring line to grow up.

Yeah I never understood why H-D built a whole new bike around the Vrod engine, when they should have mated it to a touring chassis, placed the radiator in between the fairing lowers and offered it as a model along side the air cooled touring line up. I would like to think there would be many folks jumping brands and quite a few loyalist to buy one. When the news of the Vrod hit the dealership where I was at, all of us techs were scratchin' our heads going wtf!? Everyone one of us thought it should have going into a touring chassis. Oh well.

HD reminds me of the auto makes of the 60's and 70's, especially Dodge, keeping the same body styles for 20+ years, change a paint color and model year and call it a new car. Gee, the Power Wagon truck comes to mind first as an example... It's all good, us Americans will buy just about anything.

The Mayan calender is a little off....The end of the world will be when Harley upgrades to all water cooled. Willie G. will then be sinale, and Harley buys out Duracell !
