I have been looking a 107 kit for my 2010 Ultra. I really like the FM107 build and am probably going to go with it (why screw up a good thing..right?) I can't help but compare it to other builds.

As I review and compare builds, I've seen a few 103" builds (specifically Boogaloodude's dyno sheet) with the SE204 cams that make more torque earlier in the RPM range than the FM107 kit. I suspect this is a function of the SE204 cam. As I recall Boogaloodude's build made 100+ ft. lbs of torque from 2300 RPM to approximately 4500 RPM and then fall off. I hope my memory is serving me well. The FM107 kit makes much more power later in the RPM range.

What would happen if we put the SE204 cam in a 107 kit with the bigger bore and higher 10.25:1 compression? Would we yield more torque lower in the RPM range? I cruise at 2500 RPM and shift at 3500 RPM so this is the range where I would want my peak torque correct? Very seldom am I over 4500 RPM.

Has anybody used a 107" kit with one of the SE204 cams? Just kicking the idea around.

I know when I ordered the 107 kit from FM and talked to Keith about keeping my 255 cams and placing them with the 107. He didn't recommend it due to closing time of the cams would create too much compression for the stock heads and CR would be needed. So went with the 555 cams.

My next build will focus on 2500-3500 RPM range as well. I have a 103 with 211 cams now but will probably go the 120 route next time. Love it for now even though the power comes in a little late in the range for where I ride.

The 555's have plenty of torque wherever you need it! Well, wherever I need it.

I am a big fan of the SE204 cam; very underrated IMHO. However, in your situation, with the larger 3.932" bore for the 107" as opposed to the 3.875" bore for the 103, the SE204 intake close of 34* will produce a corrected CR of near 9.6 and a cranking CR of about 200psi (at sea level). Static CR will be manageable at 10 but the corrected and cranking are a problem for a street build; it would be best to keep corrected CR under 9.3 and cranking CR under 190psi. She will be tempermental, difficult to tune and prone to detonation and nasty hot start kickback.

You could install the 204s retarded 4* and get close but it would be better to select another cam with an intake close greater than 40* and higher lift. IIRC, Boogaloodude installed 1.7 ratio rockers with his 204s to increase lift. There are several alternatives to the Woods 555; the Andrews 54, TMan 525/555. You pays your money and takes your chances; there are lots of satisfied Woods 555 users on this forum but, having never run one, I can't attest to it's performance.

I have the same 103 with SE 211 cams. I really like it. I have not had it dyno tuned yet not enough miles. I'm just wondering what kind of # your getting from that build. thanks

I know its every bit as strong on my 08 Street Glide as the S&S 124 I had on my 04 Texas Chopper. Just think the 120R would be the ultimate bagger motor even though I'm very happy with what I have.
