If it's got the TC88....see if the Hydraulic or Gear drive cam tensioner upgrade has been done......need to inspect the cam tensioner shoes if that upgrade has not been done.
My 02 RK has almost 22K and the inside cam tensioner shoe is getting pretty worn. I am doing the upgrade very soon.....looking at a cam upgrade with it also.
Doing this myself is going to be about $800. Shop would probably be ???? 1200.....1400??? Take about 300-350 off without the cam upgrade.
(I think to replace the shoes only.....probably 200-300 in a shop.??? ask your local harley dealer?)
Pretty sure that is the main weakness of the TC88's
Otherwise my bike runs great!

At the end of 2002 I bought a 2003 Softail Standard. I had originally planned to get a Electra Glide Standard, which I wish I had done as I would probably have kept it. I don't miss my Softail, but I do miss the fact I didn't get the Electra Glide. If its a good price and a well cared for bike I say go for it. The miles are quite low for the age.

My 03 EG Standard has been been a great bike with minor problems. The TC 88 has plenty of power for my needs. Even thought the miles are low you may need to put some cash in it. Fuel filter, tires, battery. If the bike was maintained the owner should be able to tell you exactly what mods or service was done.

2003 Anniversary Ultra Classic
I just puchased for $12500.00 Canadian. 20,000 miles. Bikes are a little more in Canada than the US. Has about 5k in bling and exhaust.
I am having the tensioners inspected this week. Not a big task, (the inspection, not the replacement) but I would rather have a mechanic friend do the job for me. Yes, this is a must for any of these '99-2006 (I believe) TC88's. Here is great link with instructions and information.
