Default Help!! Which RAM GPS mount on a SG/Touring (pictures appreciated)

Hi,
I'm going to use a GPS on my SG. Now I'm looking for the cleanest looking bracket to add on my glide.

My intention is to mount the RAM-B-309-1 on the left control base. Anyone has experience with this GPS bracket? How does it fit, look, etc.

Does anyone has a suggestion for another solution (I don't prefer to drill a hole in my inner fairing). It needs to be as clean as possible while I wont use the GPS that often, so only a small bracket with a ball on a not obvious location.

Pictures are appreciated a lot.

Thank you in advance!!

Update:
Just had a look at my SG and think it is also a solution to tap M10 thread in the mirror hole on the clutch bracket. And mount
RAM-B-349 RAM BASE W/ M10 X 1.25 PITCH & 1" BALL

Still al your thoughts and solutions appreciated.

Default Have a SmartPhone?

If you have a SmartPhone "WITH" GPS capability, Riders Claw may be the way to go. Have one installed on my 2010 SG, works great, no vibration, solid mount, you'll have the ability to use it as an MP3 player as well as GPS. No modification to the bike is needed.

I'm using this mount from TourATech and I like the clean look and chrome handlebar mount.

Hi John, lloks clean with GPS, how does it look without. Do you remove the GPS mount and power cable?

I think I will use my cigarette lighter for the power so that when not using the GPS you will only see the small RAM ball.

If you look at my top picture, you can just barely see the black plastic ball that the clamp sits down on. If you removed the GPS mount and cable, it would look pretty clean and uncluttered. I don't ever remove my mount because the Zumo 550 has a quick disconnect for the head unit. The bracket looks junky without it, but it's a convenient way to stow the head unit while leaving the bike in a parking lot.

I use a Ram mount for my phone. I went with the mirror hole mount. It doesn't leave much behind if you take the arm off.

No pics handy but I bought the RAM mount (handlebar) and universal phone holder for my Droid X. Then a week later I bought the drink holder (stupid, could have saved on shipping). I like the flexibility of their products.

With nothing connected the ball is very subtle in my opinon.

Direct from them, but then it was shipped from National Products Inc out of Dallas. Here's what I got, 1 of each:

RAM-B-132BU
UNPKD RAM DRINK CUP HOLDER W/ 1" BALL

$16.92

RAM-HOL-UN4U
UNPKD RAM UNIVERSAL PLASTIC ATV HOLDER

$19.46

RAM-B-149ZU
UNPKD RAM U-BOLT MNT W/2.47DIA. X 2.47X1

$31.39

I'll take some pics, heading out for a ride shortly. Oh, and the order wizard wants to try and sell you some case or whatever. I removed that...

Hi Bberck, did you need to tap thread into the mirror hole mount? Can you tell me (if you know) which type of RAM mount you have?
