How did you remove the CAT? Did you cut the pipe, remove the material then re weld?

Yep! Pretty simple project...other than spending 30min with the air hammer and a couple different grinders to get the material out!

I did the same thing. Pretty happy with the sound with the stock mufflers. Loud is cool but nothing I want to hear all day long.

I'm happy with the sound without the cat. But I still get comments from others that it's too quite, though. It has enough bark and rumble going on to know it's a Harley, and I don't get LEO's attention or turned away at campgrounds.

If its TOO LOUD...I can put some of the packing back in! As a side note, I got comments on how loud my drag pipes were on my sporty...but never had any "Complaints"! So, surely it won't be TOO LOUD with the baffles in.

I agree. Just brought home a 2011 103ci Road King Classic. The thing just purrs. Nothing like previous Harley's I've owned. I kind of like it. :-)

What affect did removing the cat have? Did it only make it a tiny bit louder?

If you noticed, the OP said he STILL wasn't happy after he removed his cat. I'd like to know FROM HIS EXPERIENCE the differences.

But thanks for the smartass reply.
