Did you have anything wrong with the SE compensator or just the bang at start up? I have the bang sometimes, but notice nothing else wrong. Will the dealer replace under warranty with only that symptom?

My Dealer replaced my Standard with an SE under warranty no charge.. Can't say which Dealer will or won't do this, but know of several that have had it done Warranty work.. Others charge for differential in price which is not all that much .. Other dealers just plain try to weasel out of it or say your Compensating Nut was loose .. Depends who your Dealer is .. Mine was banging at start up and when shut it off sounds like a bunch of bolts were falling in a can in the Primary area ..

comp problems go back to 07 (look at all the old rocks in a can and hard hot start threads) its a shame harley took 4 years to correct a known problem.

Mine didn't charge anything for the SE upgrade but I made it known to him that the problem would just reoccur if replaced it with a standard would be back with it, also pointed out about the 2011's that it came standard and said should be considered standard equipment now .. So Mine was Free .. But would have paid 100.00 to upgrade it but didn't have to as it turned out ..
