Default A different kind of helmet thread

I searched on this but could not find anything. Everyone asks about the smallest profile helmet but my problem is actually finding the larger helmets. Unfortunately, I have a big head. It measures around a size 8 1/2 hat size or 25 1/2 inches.

I have a 4XL Daytona half helmet but it is not comfortable to wear. I tried a 3XL HJC but I looked way too much like Gazoo from the Jetsons. I really like the look of the Bell 500, but it does not appear they are made big enough.

Anyone know of any other companies that make helmets for us "melon heads"?

If ya have a head that big you should'nt need a helmet, If ya ever went down you'd probably cause less property damage without one !.....LOL

So far I seem to be the only person here that promotes the Fulmer AF-81 carbon 1/2 helmet at $89. It has a pretty low profile for a DOT helmet and the weight is on par with the new ultralight HD Hybrid at $200. Can't find any size references, they are a dealer only company so you would have to find a shop that carries them and just try one, the non-carbon AF-81s are really nice too. Very comfortable helmet. I hope you find something that works well for ya, a sucky helmet makes for some sucky ridin.

Well if you find one let me know I too wear a 4xl Daytona when I have to wear a helmet. Lucky for me I live in NH and don't have to wear most of the time but I work in MA and have to wear one to work. I hate the feel of the helmet on my head not to mention it looks like a giant mushroom tip.

I just bought an Outlaw ax30010 carbon fiber. Its smaller than the Daytona (i compared them side by side). Super lite. Super small (for a DOT).

Look at the NXT helmets. They claim to use a different shape for the liners, it looks to be more oval shaped than round.

The real key to this thread is the "4XL" factor in these helmets I've seen plenty of helmets I like and few of them built in larger sizes.
