Check out the Vega XTS 1/2 helmets. I compared it to a Fulmer 81 series and the XTS gave me the in the helmet feel and less of the helmet on top feel.

Default mellon head

My next helmet will probably be a Seer since I suffer from melon head also.

Sizes to 26 3/8 inches or 8 3/8 hat size

They have a new helmet that looks interesting but not sure if it is available to everyone. They claim it is a full pound lighter than most 3/4 helmets.

Adding to the above post, call the toll-free number for Seer, and talk with Kevin. He will spend the time to answer any questions you may have.

They aren't cheap, but they are the best.

Got mine and love it! However, they run SMALL....REAALLLY small. I wear a 7 3/8 to 7 1/2 hat and the XXL (largest they make) is still tight. I worked the foam lining manually and used a smooth face hammer to pound the various points that contact my forehead and at the back. I was also able to squish it a little more oblong. Most helmets I have are tight right at the front so my mellon must be pretty long....or I'm just a neanderthal.

Behind my stock batwing and stock windshield, the helmet does NOT move whatsoever, even in the really ugly winds we've been having around here lately. It's so lightweight, it hardly noticeable. Can't believe they got away with the DOT rating.

They also claim to build their helmets for the "American shaped head" - long oval
