Default Back from "the Smokies"

I ran a thread looking for places to stay for me and the wifey for our first trip to the Smokies. Received alot of great suggestions and decided to stay at the Gateway Inn in Townsend. Great place with clean rooms and no surprises. Did not break the bank at $268.00 for three nights. The roads to ride are awesome and I cant wait to go back.
We liked 441, Blue Ridge Parkway, The Skyway, Foothills Parkway, 129 south from the Dragon, and of course The Dragon which we rode on a Monday morning at 9:00 am so it wasnt to crowded. Little River Road was a pleasant surprise with lots of scenery and twists. 2 1/2 days was not enough time and I cant wait to go back down.
Thanks to Forum for suggestions on places to stay and roads to ride.
Ride Safe!

Love that part of the country...just wished it wasn't so far from where I live...but I guess it makes it that much more special when I go.

You can never spend enough time in the area - so much scenery, cool temperatures, lush forests, beautiful streams and rivers. And the riding!

East Tennessee/ WNC has many great roads, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. When you tire of the crowds come further east and ride 421 "The Snake" between Mountain City and Bristol.
