MM headaches
beemervet: Sorry Brother, but it WAS the bike. This thing was on three different dyno's and two, I think, Power Commander units. The Techs were top notch and HD of Frederick, who has a bigtime racing program, finally determined the original download from HD, was faulty. Unfortunately, the base or orginal downloads are no longer available. It was also on the dyno at American Cycle Fab, they hold the "Worlds Fastest Flathead" record and certainly are not rookies when it comes to tuning. It was on the dyno at HD near Milwaukee during the 95th and they couldn't make it run. I know many riders with the MM system that worked well for them, mine was a dog until I went for the carb conversion.

02 was first year Delphi. My 01 with the MM has ran pretty much flawless since Power Pro Autotune installed end of July. One little glitch with wrong part number but Cobra overnighted the right one and the old lady and i have been very happy with it. Fuel mileage back to 43 mpg solo and 40 2-up and still has lots of pull when carrying 60lbs of gear with both of us on it passing on 2 lanes.

Like most of Harley's "Improvements" over the years, most riders will report little or no problems. The other guys will report here...
I've owned 2 MM systems. The '98 Ultra (Evo) was upgraded with 10:1 Weisco pistons, EV3030 cam, Harleys Stage III download AND a Power Commander. Ran it 65,000 miles without a problem.
The current bike '00 FLTRSEI ( Twin Cam ) came with the 95" kit, Stage II download and 203 cams from the Factory. At 81,000 miles I replaced the tensioners and cams with Gear Drive and installed Andrews 26 cams. ( Way more low end torque and mid range pull.)
Bike ran fine before and still does now. ( And I've never had a tuner installed.) I did have to fiddle with the cold idle on this one, and it still varies a bit as it warms up. The warm idle is a consistent 1050 rpm. I have no decel popping and the bike starts easily hot or cold. Consistent 46 mpg on a 37 mile daily commute.
I'll hit 97,000 miles on the odometer next week.
One of the problem I believe is the 'over-building' on MM bikes, the injection system can't handle too much top end performance mods IMO. It's been a good system for "torque" guys like me. ( So far!)
