Guys,

I'm really sorry I started this. I wasn't out to offend anyone in the group. Honestly, I love the RoadKing - more towards the standard than the custom. I rented one because I wanted to try it out to see if was better than the 89 I had. Honestly, it wasn't what I remembered. Could have been the bike. Could have been me. Probably a bit of both.

Don't sweat it , dude, you just came on a little strong by stating that the Road King sucks and then proceeded to bash it. All is good.

Jeez Whiskers, the jump to the next star is another 200 posts away. Think of the number of times I'll be stepping in it until then. I guess what I've learned is that you have to own one of every model.

I'll probably go spend more time in the off-topic section...

We're all just bustin' ...

I'm just tryin' to get these thick headed bagger riders to understand that all H-D's are good. Arguing which is better is really a matter of does your bike meet your needs. Which is better a Ferrari or a Porsche? Don't care - I'll take either.

I'm sure like me, if we could have two many of us would have a softy and a bagger or a dyna and a bagger. I do mostly 100 mile Sunday with life's responsibilities, so I want a relatively light and beautiful back road cruiser. To each his own!!

It's been fun...

Shoot, you can hang out here. About time we had some excitement ya know... With the winter coming up you'll be "senior rider" in no time. Things get crazy as people start getting cabin fever...lol
And like nine said.... we are just bustin. Otherwise this place is kinda boring...

[sm=icon_rock.gif] Well sort of. My nephew has a SE Fatty and a Suzuki crotch rocket and it's kinda fun takin out the crotch rocket once in a while too. Brings back memories. Enjoy the softee while you can cause you'll be comin over some day too. [sm=deal.gif]

The best of both worlds!I never have cared for the handling of the Softail but I'm not gonna bash them.I'm a Dyna Man at heart but I wouldn't give up my Bagger so I have both. The Wife rides the Dyna (when she can get me off of it).I can only ride the Bagger 12 or 13 hours a day so maybe it is the wrong bike.A buddy of mine can ride his Soft tail 3 hours and he has to stop for an hour.500 mile days are pretty easy on a Bagger but I would have hell riding any other bike that hard.

Thanks Hardly!

I took the bag guards off and I leave them off.I run the bike without the tour pack 80 % of the time.It seems to be a bit more nimble without it.I just don't like the way the bag guards look on it.I guess I'm trying to UNGEEZER the Geezerglide a bit.

They're goin' soft in their old age. A little shake rattle & roll is one of the reasons I came over to the "dark side" in the first place. I like the feel and sound of the single pin. If I'd wanted cushy I'd have bought a Goldwing for crying out loud! Fact is, Harley baggers are the ONLY touring bikes that still retain some "attitude" Only way to fly baybeeeee!
