thanks for the responses. as it turns out the security system had indeed never been activated. with over 5K on the bike you would have thought I would have noticed it sooner. Damn lucky someone didn't run off with my scoot.

Sounds like you need either the Radio Shack siren upgrade or the HD Smart Siren so you know when it sets.
