If HD was planning to put the VRod motor in a touring bike they would have though about that issue back when they developed the motor. My quess is not if but when they go that route it will be a new motor.
I spoke with someone yesterday that was involved in the testing and engineering of the V-Rod, he said that this bike has already been prototyped but will not go into production because the V-Rod motor cost $1200 dollars more than the TC. Said it was a great bike though.
You have to rev the vrod too much to make it any fun for touring.... great for what it is, but I like to log highway miles at 2500rpm, not 5500rpm....
how about just an air cooled 120ci offered from the factory as an option? I know that HD has a crate motor listed in its screaming eagle catalog..... how about making the 103 standard and the 110 or 120 the power pack version......
PLUS ONE, I would take a 120R over a VRod motor for touring, any day

and yet the rocker-c has an msrp of 16999, while the vrod muscle msrp is 14999....
There was one of those Road Rod conversions at one of the local HD dealerships a few months ago. It looked really, really good, but they wanted a lot of money for it. The sales guy told me that Brian Klock had done the conversion. Don't know if that was true or just blowing smoke.
