Default Back to Stock Pipes?

My '08 Ultra Classic has Wild Pig slip-on pipes with 1.75" baffles. They sound great around town, but during a recent 1,100 mile trip, they drove me nuts. I'm thinking of going back to stock pipes, but I'm torn. Anybody ever go from aftermarket slip-ons back to stock? Any regrets?

Yes, for same reasons, I've heard of riders reverting back to stock because the audible gets to them during long treks. Nothing wrong w/that...very understandable. I'm retired USAF & proof of how annoying hearing damage can be - tinnitus is extremely frustrating.

Theres usually always the option of changing the baffles or the mufflers to quiet things down but still maintain a better flow.

kept my stockers and have a map just for that reason. IF making a long trip, I either wear earplugs (which I always carry) or switch out the slip-ons and change the map. And yes, I have tinnitus.

Get some used screaming eagles. they up the sound a little and ride nice at highway cruising speed. You'll be able to hear the radio and dangerous things like cars in your blind spot.
Nothing wrong with stockers too.

I went back to stock pipes recently from the older style '02 Screamin Eagle slash cuts. Even on the 40 minute ride to work, my ears would ring for an hour afterwards. I'm pretty happy with stock at this point. The bike runs better at low idle with the extra back pressure and I can hear the radio. :-) I have thought of the adjustable baffle pipes as well.

Buy a pipe that you can change the baffle, like Fuel Moto, American Custom, or Supertrapp SE. Change the tune if necessary. That is the best of both worlds, loud around town and quiet on long trips.

Jackpot dyno tuned mufflers, great sound and won't annoy you on long rides. You can even get quiet baffles for them. Call Jamie at Fuel Moto.

Had Rinehearts on my 08 UC ,sounded great but too loud on long trips and could not hear the radio. Switched to V&H monster ovals and problem solved, pipes look great , sound good and not loud, just a bit more than stock
