Default Stock headpipe to dual?

Has anyone ever made the stock headpipes into TRUE DUALS by cutting out the cat section and adding 2 seperate pipes? Can anyone see a reason not to do this??

one of the main reasons people go to true duals is to clean up the right side of the bike and to reduce the heat. keeping the stock configuration while separating the pipes accomplishes neither. you will get the true dual sound and reduced performance tho......

I don't see how... removing the cat so, wouldn't that make just as much sense?

just removing the cat would leave you with a better performing system than converting it to true dual.

Wouldn't have expected that... I figured that going from 2 pipes to a single less restrictive chamber to 2 pipes again wouldn't be *** good as 2 pipes with the same inside diameter all the way thru...

What about making a round replacement for the flatter crossover pipe? Would that do anything for me?

I think the back pressure from them going together is what will make you lose some power. The stock system almost scavenges like a 2-1 where they come together. I looked and looked at a dual system that I liked and couldn't find one. I went 2-1 and won't go back. I also look for performance not looks also, to each his own.

I don't think I could go without the duals out the back. Just doesn't look as nice IMO
