Default How to Adjust Clutch to Make Finding Neutral Easier?

I'm familiar with how to adjust a clutch, per service manual instructions.

Typically, I turn the clutch basket screw in until it just starts to grab, then back it out 1/2 a turn.

Can I assume that it's the cable adjustment that determines how easy neutral is found?

If so, what's the procedure?

Thanks

Typically that's it. I assume you have loosened up the cable before you do the clutch adjustment? If not that could be your issue. Don't forget to leave about a dimes width play at the perch end of the cable when your done.

Agree 100%. Not much else you can do with the adjustment. How many miles on the bike? If new it may still just need a break in!

...and neutral is most easily found from 1st,( than from 2nd). It's inherent in the design of the transmission

No, I did all that with the cable, as well.

I was just wondering if there was a method of adjustment that would allow finding neutral easier.

Thanks

Like said from 1st with heel shifter is very easy and if you change your stock shift linkage to a home made heim joints using stock rod or buy any after market or HD specific for your bike it will improve the whole shifting experience and noise level.

Odd. Once you've adjusted the clutch this way it should pop into N without a hitch. How many miles on the bike (this clutch)? Any issue like slipping or anything else?

I personally think practice and how you do it for you is what does it. I always find neutral from first up since my fine motor coordination is better at levering then stepping. Hill and toe is another ball game. I have my clutch set just like you and run formula V which is about 75-90 SYN wt in transmission. I also have my shift rod adjusted so my boot size fits under the shifter with my leg out ridding position. With my motor off and in first, one flick of the shifter up pops my right in neutral. Never had a new one.
