just came back from the dealer had same problem, plus a stutter off the line two up. The tech sat on the bike, 1st gear and foot brake applied released the clutch slowly a few times to re create the noise. Shut it down and said loose compensator bolt. They re torque it and noise gone, test on the stutter to come later.

It's not a loose bolt on the compensator.
Mine does it also. Even after I changed the compensator and personally torqued it.
And this is with a Non compensating primary gear. EVO 30 tooth.

Try the throw out bearing. It happened on both my bikes. Makes the same noise on clutch pulls and low gears.

why would all these throw out bearings be going out at the thousand mile mark?
All if not most of the bikes stating this issue are low mileage???
