Purchased the kuryakyn rear turn/brake/taillight controller module #4859 for my 2005 Electra Glide Classic to get better visibility at night, plugged it in according to instructions, and yes my turn signals are now on as running lights, but I noticed that when the brake is applied only the turn signals get brighter, but the original tail/brake lamp does not get brighter when the brake is applied. Checked the original taillight bulb, it was fine, tried another bulb, still the same issue, only the blinkers get brighter when brake is applied. Disconnected the module, original brake light works fine.
Is this supposed to work like this, or is it possible I have a deffective kuryakyn module?

Might be defective. My taillight and signals come on when the brake is applied. Double check your connections, and maybe try it on another bike.

 

Call Kuryakyn and ask. They have good tech support
