Default Rider back rest help

Just got the back rest for my street glide but the problem is I can only get the seat to fit on the first 2 holes on the mount. I have the stock seat and would like to put the back rest a little farther back. Any one else has this issue

I have seen some guys heat and bend the bars to adjust it back some. I am assuming that you have the non adjustable HD one. My friend just bought on for his Electra Glide Classic (08) and we were able to adjust it back and have it work with his stock seat. I know we are talking about 2 different seats though.

Wish I knew how to help. I installed the backrest and it went on in the farthest back position with absolutely no problem.

I've heard of that problem. do a "SEARCH" I've heard of guys turning them around. Call your dealership & ask the tech what they do> OR take it back & get the HD Adjustable. IMO, it works much better. I know that wasn't the answer you wanted BUT!!!!!

I've heard that you can bend the bar back yourself...or have someone slight modify. I personally bought the adjustable one for that very reason. The person at the dealership said he had complaints about how it sat the rider to straight. IMO it was worth the extra $$$.

My seats only went on when the base was in the first 2 positions. I pulled the leather off from the bottom of the seat opening and removed about 1.5" of plastic to allow it to sit fully down over the backrest mount.
