Default 09 SG with Progressive 940's

I nearly had these installed in Myrtle Beach for $700 but found them online for $465 and did it myself in 30 minutes. When I removed the original shocks, oil poured out of the air side (which shouldn't happen).

Even with the pressure set at 42 psi we would bottom out with the stock shocks (I'm 200 lbs. and she is 115). We put 200 miles on them this weekend and the ride was much more smooth and comfortable, especially for the wife.

My initial setting was 2 revolutions from "dead soft" so I will try to fine tune them from there to soften the ride even more. If you still have stock shocks on your SG, get rid of them they are junk. You just dont realize it yet.

Oh I know that. Just saving up for em' I guess.
You know who it is, spend $20 K on a bike and then have to come up w/another $5 K to get it the way you want it, and shocks are in that equation too.

I changed mine out on the Road Glide to the Progressive 440s (didn't want to drop the height that the 940s gave) - would never go back.

I love my 940's, but not as much as my wife.

Did it change the rear ride height? I need to lower the back of my bike at least an inch since I put 2" lowered monotubes in the front.

Not sure what it will be on a Street Glide, but it dropped the ride height a little better than an inch. A little better than a 1/2" on side stand.

Ok 09 SG here, did the progressive tubes up front, std height without one spacer so about 3/4" drop, 940s on the rear. The more ya dial in preload, the more it raises up the rear. The light spring drops ya a bit once ya sit on the scoot. I did not like the higher UNSPRUNG look so I got a set of lowering blocks off ebay and dropped the rear 1". Now it sits right in my opinion, rides just fine with 2 turns of preload, 4 turns if loaded heavy 2 up on a trip.

In regards to the lowering question, these shocks are a direct replacement for the shorter Street Glide shocks. They will lower all other touring bikes by one inch in the rear.
