Default What seat for a street glide?

OK after 6 hours in the saddle one way (our longest trip without a rest break) my wife and I agree we need a new seat. I never really thought I needed one so I never looked at them. What 2 up seat would you recommend that is comfortable but yet not look like it belongs on a ultra?

I have the Sundowner on mine. Wife loves it.
Of course it does not look as good as the factory seat, but we wanted comfort.

If comfort is what it takes to make your wife happy, take a good look at some of the touring seats. Lots of options for other manufacturers too.

Will be difficult to get the comfort your wife wants without going to a more padded (thicker) seat.

When I had my Glide I actually took the seat off an EGC and had it sent to Mean City. Should be able to find one pretty cheap and then have it moded for about $150. Then you will have a seat that looks good for the short trips and a seat that feels good for the long ones.

I just realized do you have a 2006 SG if so the sundowner is the best.

I tried a sundowner and harley adjustable back rest, it was ok. Then I bought a mustang and mustang backrest. Mustang for me all the way. Sold the sundowner. Try a mustang very comfortable.

I have a Mustang solo with the backrest also. The great support keeps me sitting up straight, with good posture so that I don't slump over and end up with a sore back. Works great for me...your mileage may vary.

Picking the "right seat" is a very subjective thing. One guy will claim that Corbin is the best thing since sliced bread, while the next guy will swear on (insert brand name), etc, etc.

You're just going to have to make a leap of faith and buy one that looks right for you. Good luck.

Less is more for me I logged 3600 miles in 4 1/2 days on my streetglide on a Danny Gray solo and loved it.

Sundowner here. No complaints from the front or back seat.
