Default Slip on mufflers won't stay put

I put slip on mufflers on my 05 and they keep sliding rearward. I reset them and tightened clamp as tight as it will go, but they are moving again. What am I missing?

use new clamp, haley ones ,not the ones that came with aftermarket slipons.u may have overtightened already and put a taper on the headpipe if that is the case u can use an exhaust expander to straighten it out first.

Yup it's your two muffler clamps, but don't use haley clamps, use Harley clamps

are you also using the bracket/mount under the rear of your bags? I have seen on others they have an extra rear mount to hold on pipes...

These are Harley mufflers and clamps. Mufflers look identical to the originals. Are you saying that I should get new clamps?

Yup, you need new clamps. It's recommended to get new clamps when you change mufflers.

Get new Harley Torcos, they're quite good, but they're single-use.

May need new clamps but also make sure the clamps aren't pushed to far back on the slip ons. If you get them back from the edge to far they won't stay tight.
