I have smoked lenses on all the back lights of my FLHX, and I like it now, but it took a while to get happy. Tried a standard red bulb behind a smoked tail light / brake light lens. Looked bad. Switched to a Custom Dynamics Genesis 2. Very bright. Very happy.

Tried red bulbs behind smoked lenses on my turn signals with running / brake / turn signal module. Did not like the look of the red bulbs behind the lenses. Put in Custom Dynamics LED lights. They are white when not on. Happy now.

Still have standard bulbs behind smoked lenses on my tour pack. Not happy. Looks kind of orange, and they are not very bright. Gonna pick up LED tour pack lamp kit at the CD truck at Biketoberfest.

Running the same set up. Looks much better than the red lenses and you don't sacrifice any brightness.

 

Thanks everyone. I'm begining to think I'll stay stock on the rear for awhile, unless I go clear lense and Radiantz bulb? Smoked look ok but aren't doing for me visability wise.

 

Although you have made up your mind they were very bright even with the smoke covers. I liked them a lot. But changed my rear fender and bags so they were only ob there for a month.
