what style helmet do you wear?

[QUOTE=SWThomas;16237897]I honestly believe that most folks would wear helmets if there weren't any laws making people wear them. [quote]
You just answered your own question.
I don't consider any one a ''never-helmet'' guy, but on the back under 18 the lid goes on, so says the state.
You just answered your own question.
Just curious, but how many of you never-helmet guys allow your children to ride with you while not wearing a helmet? And what are your feelings about seatbelts in your cage?

Agreed its what a forum is for. Its interesting to hear the opinions even if we don't like them or agree.

The poll itself elicits a conversation. Besides, the debate over helmet usage is almost as copious and heated as debates on the 2nd amendment. If you didn't want to read / hear about conflicting philosophies, you should have ignored this post from the very beginning.

I hated helmets when i was younger, and fought many a helmet law repeal. As i got older, and did some rides in the 17 degree cold, was tired of rocks and June bugs, i tried a full face. Once i got use to it, i thought, what was i thinking... This is my 3rd wreck, and if not for this Nolan modular, those scratches on the poly-carb, would be on my face. The other 2 wrecks, my bell was rung pretty hard, one off the 1/4 panel and one on a trunk. I still believe the Rider should make up their own mind, but this is the choice i made, and i am thankful.

To address your point, if riding without a helmet meant auto voiding one's insurance, there are three choices. A few would ride without. According to records of states, like CA, that implemented helmet laws, many would quit riding and it would take 20 years to build the ridership back up to what it was before if it ever does. Thus you missed me hitting your point because there are repercussions, and worse it's singling out motorcyclists, a small percentage of the problem (skateboards and ladders being explanation rather than a subject). We can support our sport by being against these laws, or watch our sport continue being restricted off the road like in China, and South America.
