I'm not 'brand loyal'.....
I have used Mobil 1 synthetic and their V-twin, Amsoil, and HD SYN 3
My next change will be Shell Rotella.....
The dealership you mentioned, was trying to blow smoke up your backside !!

First, what you need is a new dealer....then buy what oil you want.

The Magnuson-Moss Act, 1975, I believe, prevent a dealer from determining what product you can use. Check it out.

Does AMSOIL carry a SAE rateing such as SAE20W50? If so it's OK for warranty by Harley Motor Company. I would not use and oil not rated by SAE or Diesel's CF,CG,CH,CI 4

Dont believe its a HD policy
This has come up on here a lot of times and seems to be isolated to certain dealers. They have to be cheap *** holes being mad about losing the little they make in markup on a quart of oil. My dealer has been putting my Mobile 1 in supplied by me at every oil change since the 1K and never batted an eye.

Amsoil is sold by a lot of Dealer's here in Tennessee. I know one Dealer will offer Amsoil or Syn 3 for the same price with a service.

Yep, your dealer is a retard. Tell them they don't make the warranty rules, MOCO does and according to them Amsoil is fine.
