I wear the UA type compression shorts. I buy the Brand that Walmart sells (Starter) is the name. It made a big difference in the temperature of my seat after I installed a Captain Itch Crotch Cooler. If you think about it, these other Crotch Cooler's that are in two pieces that mount on each side actually direct hot air off the motor and exhaust right under the seat. Captain Itch Cooler goes accross the entire frame under the seat keeping the heat off you and the seat.

+1 on sheepskin and athletic shorts. I went to Wally and bought a sheepskin seat cover and cut out a pad for my seat....cheap and works good.

I have both an Alaska Leather Sheepskin and the HD Circulator Seat pads and they are both great for keeping your rear cooler in this desert heat.

I prefer the HD Circulator Seat pads because I don't have to worry about them when it decides to start raining when I am traveling. Doesn't hurt them to get wet and they dry easily. Wet leather sheep skin doesn't dry as easily. and they take up less room in the bags or tour pack when you do take them off for safe keeping while traveling.

Hey AZ steve I live in Goodyear and have the circulator pad and sheepskin an have trimmed them both to fit my seat also use the compression shorts and powder the backside but when it's 100+ here in the Desert it's just HOT but the circulator pad allows air to come up under the pad and helps and it doesn't raise you up much.

www.beadrider.com <-----bought a set for a 3K ride to TN a few weeks ago. Comfortable and air circulation was fantastic. Never had an issue and never ended up with Monkey Butt. However I am sure the compresion shorts helped as well.
