First time I noticed the roll was when I took the test ride on my bike, scared the crap out of me for a second. When I commented on it one of the tech guys was walking by and said "watch this" ...he then got behind the rear fender and pushed the bike forward about foot. The Jiffy stand did not move.

I agree to put it in gear on a slope, but the jiffy stand works very well on its own. My driveway is on a slope and I let my bike idle to warm up on the jiffy stand while I close the garage door. The bike may slide down hill a few inches from the engine thumping the bike around, but I have complete faith in the stand. That is one strong hunk of metal.

Your problem is the hockey puck on the end.

Leave it in gear to stop it from rolling. No way I would depend on the kickstand to keep it from rolling.

So for all you guys that leave it in gear when parking, do you fumble around and put it back in neutral prior to starting or do you start it with it in gear (clutch in, obviously)?

My 04 popped out of that tab once while stopping for gas. I obviously kicked it out either too hard or not hard enough. Got off the bike and walked around the back side and watched it fall into the fuel pump. Grrrrrr.

There was just a 12 page thread on that:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/showt...ght=leave+gear

I do leave in gear, all the time, then put in N when starting. It helps to rock bike forward to find neutral. Rarely I have a hard time finding N and will just hold clutch in.
