Planning The Tail of the Dragon Ride
#21
Be sure to wave and smile for the cameras....lol
Make sure you fuel up in Tellico before hitting the Cherohala Skyway. Nothing out there and no cell service to speak of...lol And remember it may be nice and warm in Tellico but the weather can change fast on the Skyway. So take a jacket with you plenty of places to pull off and take some pictures. Enjoy your ride and do visit Deal's Gap Motor Resort great folks there and you can find out about the LEO presence on the Dragon by asking those coming in. Or if you come from the 411 side stop at the HD shop on 129 and do the same.

the dragon
Leaving the way too hot state of Florida Monday Morning 1st stop Dublin GA. Then to Stecoah Nc to the Ironhorse Motorcycle lodge (hope its as nice as looks) 2 days in that area to enjoy the dragon and surrounding areas then to Helen Ga. My buddy rides a victory and they have a rally there that weekend as well as the US Ridernews rally so it should be a great week. I cant wait gonna be a long 3 days to wait to leave. If anybody has stayed at Ironhorse how was it , it looks nice oh and it is in a dry county so We will be bringing some adult beverages with us............Sorry for the rant Jim

The Ironhorse is a very nice place, the pictures are accurate. Campfire every night.
It was just a little to stuffy for my taste. It is more of a yuppie type place. If you want more of a biker type party place check out the kickstand, very friendly. I will be staying at the kickstand when i go back.
