Dropped my brand new Street Glide tonight

Everyone seems to be dropping their bikes this week. How did you avoid damaging your saddlebags, as SG's have no protection at all for them? I installed some guards early-on and I feel much better about the prospect of having the bike fall over, which it has twice when I thought the kickstand was down (but wasn't). Anyway, let he who has never dropped his bike and thinks he never will cast the first stone.

Actually no one saw me drop it. Within 10 seconds there were 20 cars going around me and only two people asked if I was hurt then drove away. Thank god for the guy working late at his collision shop came out and helped me. He was extremely nice and never even laughed once.....Think I might swing buy his shop and drop off a small token of my appreciation.

I'm familiar with the sick feeling when you do something stupid. The floorboard on my old Heritage kept it from hitting the garage floor. Every brand new vehicle has to get that first nick of some sort. Be happy it is small. I'm hoping the one I just got on my new hard bag working on the bike in the garage is the token new vehicle boo boo.

You should be ashamed, dropping your own bike! I have friends that do it for me....... First month with the RG a friend moved it so his girl friend could get to her parking spot & dropped it for me. Saved me the trouble.
Don't let it bother you, it sounds like you handled it just fine. Besides, you just proved the old adage, "either you've dropped one, or you're going to".
