Just purchased 07 SC Road King and would like to change the exhaust. Had Pythons on my 05 Fat Boy and they were very loud. Any suggestions for a mellow sounding muffler???
Well, I'm assuming you want a little more tone than the stock mufflers, but not so loud as to attract attention from the police or ridicule from your neighbors. After looking around for a couple of weeks and hanging out at bike shops, I bought the Vance & Hines Oval Slip-Ons. Deep and throaty tone with no harshness. "Not too hot, not too cold.... just right!"
Yep by far best sounding without being too loud, V&H ovals, best looking too! Add a big sucker air cleaner by arlin ness and a set up PCIII from jamie at fuel moto and you will be set, not a better setup out there.
I'm guessing those are the "old", now discontinued slip ons, not the new SE slip ons. Yes? No? Other? I've been told by Harley Dealers if you're looking for a real Harley sound not to waste your money on the new SE's.
Correct They are the Old SE's but they can be found on eBay, when i boutght my Pipes i ended up with Two Sets because I had to bids going and nobody else was bidding on them
