Ready to order, PC-V or Power Vision with Stage One?
Will be ordering from Fuel Moto a Stage One for my 2011 RKC... want a freer flowing air intake, get rid of the CAT, ceramic coated head pipes and most probably Jackpot 4.5 inch Pro mufflers.
The main question is...
Go with the Power Commander V or the newer Power Vision?
I've read almost everything here on the forum about each... but I'd like to put it out to the members here who have actual experience with the Stage One and either of these products from Fuel Moto!
Main thing: simplicity and ease of use!!! My understanding is that Jamie will set-up either for my bike with the components that are being ordered.
I like the fact that you can flash the ECU with the Vision and not have to 'piggy-back' the unit on the bike. The extra dollars are not an issue. The ability to expand is a plus. I do not want to be a computer geek/nerd with the unit! I simply want to use it to obtain better performance and optimize the motor and reduce the exhaust temps.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Experiences?

I just made that decision, and went with the Power Vision. That was what Jamie recommended, and since I've dealt with hiim before, and feel he is a straight up guy, listened to what he said.
No regrets, my bike runs great, and I have a lot of options as to what I can do in the future. I don't think Jamie would have recommended the Power Vision if he didn't think that was the best for what I wanted.
I had an 07 Classic with a Fuel Moto Stage 1 set up and used the Power Commander, and I have to say this was much easier to use, and I personally like the idea of re-programming instead of piggy backing.

It is almost as simple to install as the PCV and once the tune is flashed to the ECM you don't need to have the display unit installed. You can flash it and forget it if you like, or delve into its deep feature list. Check out the PV thread in the ECM/Tuner section of this forum here.
I've been a Fuel Moto customer for 4½ years and have been through three sets of muffers (Rush, Jackpot Generation 1, and Jackpot Generation 2), four tuner setups (PCIII, PCV, PCV-AT, and now PV), and two AC kits. I have never been dissatisfied with anything I've purchased from them or any other aspect of doing business with them.
Whether or not to buy a PCV or PV from Fuel Moto is a hard decision, and whichever you decide on is probably a winner. If you want to install a tuner and forget it, possibly upgrading the map later as you upgrade the bike, the PCV would be hard to beat and is cheaper. You can add Auto-Tune later if desired to bring you into another realm of tuning. This is true auto-tuning of AFR's, something the PV cannot do.

After researching and talking with the guys at FuelMoto, I purchased the PowerCommander V and their Stage 1 Power Package with 4" dyno tuned jackpot mufflers for my '09 RKC. Bottom line is I feel you pay for extra features with the Power Vision with no better performance over the PCV
Essentially, a tuner is needed to add fuel. There are a few other tweaks that are included and both units accomplish this task effectively. The "piggyback" concept seems to have a negative connotation, but it is every bit as effective according to those in the know.
I think the Powervision is a great product and I thought I might enjoy tweaking it or using it as a tach. But, I didn't want it hanging on my handlebar and probably wouldn't adjust it as I feel the FuelMoto people are good at what they do. Keep in mind, you can data log the PCV and have it adjusted and emailed for free, if necessary.
If you like gadgets, I would get the PowerVision.. I like that it plugs into the OBD port and you don't have to unplug the O2 sensors. I felt the $200 wasn't justified from a performance standpoint.
The install went well and I'm happy with the way it performs. The jackpot mufflers are really nice, too! Hope this helps and good luck...

They're both great tuners. I have the PCV, but that's just because the Power Vision wasn't out when I got my fuel management system. I agree with everyone above, you can't go wrong with Jamie, whatever he recommends is what I'd go with. I bought my PCV from him, had him install my cams and dyno my bike, and I have the utmost respect for him and his advice. He's a businessman, but he's also a biker and I don't think he'd ever **** another biker for the sake of a buck.
