Seat padding??????????

RE: Seat padding??????????
rmarion,
Ok, bear with me but at one time years ago, I rode a Honda Gold Wing. (That's even hard to type)
At one of the events they call Wing Dings down in Gattlinburg, Tn. I met a old guy making a fortune what he called customizing seats. Simple concept but proved to be effective.
He removed the seat cover(don't know how yours is constructed on bottom of pan but probably rivited or stapled) and took an electric carving knife to the foam. He would cut out a rectangular section about 5"X5" and replace it with a more dense foam using a little spray glue. Then reshape the contour of the seat again with the electric knife.
Sounds simple bet it did work and was more confortable.
This winter I would try it yourself and if your not satisified you can always take it to a shop.
Oh yeah, before you put the cover back on, throw it in the dryer for about a minute or so to make it easier to work with.
Later,
Mr. Mobey

RE: Seat padding??????????
Custom shops can do wonders. If the gel is what you want to do, a word of warning: Get a sheepskin cover! I found out the hard way in July after leaving it in the midday sun for an hour and a half!!! Your *** burns and keeps burning for a good 30 miles+! The gel absorbs and retains heat for a long time. They make socks with pockets for gel inserts you microwave, same principle. I'll venture to guess the gel pads retain cold the same way, I'll find out soon enough!
