Word of advice - no more "storm chasing" for you...
This was going to be my quote, but I got beat to it. Glad you were wearing your helmet, It did it's job by the sounds of it. Keep us informed on your progress, glad you are still kicking.
Lucky you didn't hit a tree.
Get the ins co to total it, buy it back at a cheapo price, get a new bike with the ins money and you come out ahead. Plus you get to build it bigger and better.
Get well soon.
What does the rest of your tatoo say? Glad you will be ok.
"Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight"
"Rage rage against the dying of the light"
"Do not go gentle"
It's part of a poem by Dylan Thomas

It was my mistake for going too fast in a t-storm in a dark, rural neighborhood. But yes, ABS would have helped because I would have just stomped on the brakes

If the frame & drivetrain are good then I'd push to keep the bike from totaling.
You can do a lot with beat-up bike and 11k. I've done it three times now (for three different friends), every one of them had a color matched frame when I was done.
Yeah the bike is at a reputable indy in Chantilly, VA. The Progressive agent 3-wayed him into the convo. So far, I'm very happy with Progressive and the adjuster. Trust me when I say the list of upgrades just got longer

Glad you're going to heal & there's no bike shortage so start shopping. Sux to lose your prode scoot, but now it'll be another unpainted canvas to personalize. Recover & ride on!
Lol

Thanks for all the good wishes fellas and for the laughs. I'm definitely blessed to be here and relatively healthy!
Especially because I'm due to deploy to douchebagistan in a few weeks!
Been down a couple times before myself. Glad to hear you're OK as far as motorcycle injuries go. The bike can be fixed so just take care of yourself and look forward to planning out your next bike.
