Default TTS Tune - pinging

I just installed a Fuel Moto 2:1:2 pipe and a SE A/C kit on my 2010 FLHR (I'm using stock mufflers). I'm now trying to tune it and began with the TTS canned setup for a stock pipe/muffler with a hi-perf A/C kit. After doing a number of V-tune sessions, I'm consistently getting pinging on 70%-100% throttle and need to tune in out. Should I try a different base map before playing with timing? Does the pipe w/o the cat effect flow to a great degree? Anyone else have this setup and been through the ping elimination process?

Thanks!

Are you using and .mt7 or an .mt8 map? Which one?

What is the difference? Does an mt8 have more options?

The .mt8 unlocks a few goodies in the ECM, and seems to be a bit easier to tune for some reason. Or I could just be getting better at it.

You'll have to run DataMaster and collect spark data. This data is specific to your bike.

Suggest you read the HELP files for info on collecting this data and adjusting the spark tables.

Go to mt8 file and choose either the thunder header w air cleaner or race exhaust file. You are probally too lean. Thats why its pinging.

ditto. once you find the area that is pulling timing you will either have to add fuel or pull timing or both.

it is well worth it and not difficult once you get the hang of it.

That's why I always keep a cheapo laptop around. you never know when you're gonna need a computer for something different.
Just put it in one of your saddlebags.
