Default Caliper Rebuild

I'm getting ready to put freshly chromed calipers on the front of my scoot. I had an issue with the stockers and dirt and road crap building up on the side of the pistons and they didn't want to retract, causing sticky front brakes that rubbed on the rotors. I cleaned them several times and got them going again. I have seen people recommend different lubricants and such to put on the sides of the pistons to help them retract. I would like to take care of this now and keep this issue at a minimum. What is a good product to use??

Thanks in advance for the help!!

when you assemble a caliper you use a lubricant like silglide or the kit comes with a silicone based fluid to assemble with. Dont put anything on the outside of the pistons, that will just attract more dirt to stick to it and dont use brake fluid either. Use the sliglide on the pins that will help the pads not to stick.

I use Peratex ultra disk bake caliper lube. I used it on my SG pistons and pins 3 years ago because my front brakes were pulsing as I slowed to a stop and I haven't had a problem since. It's a grease and comes in an 8oz bottle with a brush attached to the lid. You can get it at most auto parts stores. Good stuff!!!!
