Default Brake caliper swap question...

Hi all,

Does anyone know if 2009 SG front calipers will mount on a 2005 RK?

Thanks

I upgraded my front brakes to the newer Brembo ones. I used new calipers, rotors, and master cylinder.

The answer is 'yes', the calipers are a direct bolt on. You'll also need 11.8" (2008+) rotors. I purchased the Harley floating 'tear drop' rotors off eBay for $325/shipped (2 new). These rotors come with new bolts. I also got the EBC HH sintered pads. Already had braided lines. You can also get an 08+ master cylinder and matching clutch perch off eBay (that's what I did). I paid about 150 for 'lightly used' mc, perch, levers, etc. I don't know the wisdom of using the 'stock' master cylinder with the newer calipers, not sure of the bores. I've heard (probably on here) the stock mc will work. As long as you're upgrading, you might as well do the mc, though. This mod makes a world of difference, stopping. (I've got a 2004 RK Custom).
