I get a hair over 40 mpg combined. I have seen a 3-4 mpg increase since I switched to "Regular" gas. I don't know why it went up but it did.
Maybe that's from backing off on the throttle so your bike wouldn't ping so much .. LOL. HD recommends 91 octane and I've heard of bad performance and pinging with the bike running regular. I don't have any personal experience because I've always run at least 91 octane.

Harley also recommends only using their branded lubricants. Guess you listen to that also. I have used regular gas in my scooters since 1974 and have never has a problem. Even ran it in my airplane a few times when nothing else was available.
