Default DYNO NUMBERS! CORRECTION!!!!!

UPDATE FROM TUNER

Got a call from the tuner today. He was concerned that my numbers were not what HE had expected either. After several hours of looking, phone calls and such, he discovered that his "Atmospheric conditions" settings on the dyno were way off. He said that it will not affect the tune, but it will affect the peak numbers and the curve ever so slightly.......my question was....."HOW SLIGHTLY" after correcting the "Atmospheric conditions" and running everything back through.........

101 hp and 107 tq!!!!!

Now thats what I am talking about! Just to keep my credibility, I have requested a new dyno sheet!

Ok, not as much as I had hoped for, but this build has big smile factor! No detonation so far since map completed. The HD flash would not work on my '06, so the tuner had to manually adjust timing across the board. Great numbers or not, I am VERY pleased. Many thanks to Rods performance for the build and tune!

I would be very happy with those numbers.

The curve is great for a bagger, and torque is really all that matters.

With my build, I'm hoping for 95 torque/90 hp when I'm done and with a good tune.

HP is an illusionary equation, torque is real and what's important. You got a sweet build Wes, congratulations.

Thats a very nice torque curve. Looks like a fun ride.

HP is an illusionary equation.
Not really. HP is mathmatically constrained to torgue, and is a measure of work, whereas torque is a measure of force. Notice that at 5252 RPM, the torque and HP curves intersect? It is always the case that at 5252 RPM, HP and torque are the same #. HP = torque (in lb ft) x RPM/5252 Thing is, anywhere you increase torque, you increase HP. Now, a nice flat torque curve, like wnogood got, is very desirable and more important than shooting for big peak HP numbers where you have to rev the shiit outta the motor, at the expense of a nice flat torque curve with useful torque and HP in low and mid range.

Thanks for the lesson

I know how HP numbers are obtained on a Dyno, the fact that HP is a mathmatical equation relative to torque further illustrates my point. HP is an illusion, without torque, there is no HP.

Congrats! Now get on it, and wipe that grin off your face.

Btw, wife and I went riding couple weeks ago in your neck of the woods. Some nice roads north of there.

Yeah, it's funny.....seems like 90% of the time when we head out for a ride, we wind up going through North ALabama and in and around Southern Tennessee. The mountains, the 15 mph curves......hard to beat...
