I believe I have seen them, but am having trouble locating them now.. does anyone know if they make, or where to find the chrome saddlebag latch kits with the smoked reflectors as opposed to the red reflectors? Thanks

Looking for the same. Some time ago I ran across smoked reflectors on some website that completely escapes me now. Even saved it to my favorites. Laptop crapped out and now I cannot find them again. Tried every google search I could think of..... no dice.

I have been thinking about trying the spray on "smoke" tint. Not sure if the red hue would show thru the tint. Reflectors are pretty cheap so I might give that a whirl.

What do you think of the quality of the LED Latch inserts?

I ask because I bought the non-led (no lights at all) latch inserts from California Customs (Same company that makes your LED inserts) and I tossed them in the garbage when they arrived in the mail. Looked like they were cut by a heavily intoxicated novice operating a dull band saw. They only cost $15 bucks so I never bother to try to get my money back but the quality was horrible. I'm wondering if my experience was an isolated incident but I'm sure wary of buying anything from them again.

Curious to know your opinion of your inserts.

i too would like smoke reflectors in my stock painted latches

 

Anyone else use the VHT nite shades spray tint or any other similar product to smoke out the reflectors on the saddle bags? I've looked at some inserts, but I don't want just black, I'd rather have a smoke look with a hint of the red showing through?

 

go to auto zone or pep boys and buy smoke paint... thats what i did... came out great. just mask the latch off and you are good

 

that's what I was thinking to do. Did you use any kind of clear over after you smoked them?
