Default 120r questions

All righty. I am a competent shade tree mechanic and am considering purchasing a 120R engine (probably through ebay). I have a 2009 RKC. If i just buy the engine, what else will I need to install in in my RC. I don't ride hard so I don't see the need for a clutch upgrade. Pros/Cons? Any comments/suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

Since your first comment is that you don't see the need for a clutch upgrade, I think you should leave well enough alone. Even the HD 103 kit comes with a heavier clutch spring. Since the 120R as a lot more pull than my 103, I'd definitely do the heavier clutch!

My stock clutch slipped with just cams in my 96". Even the SE clutch pack and spring isn't enough for a 120R according to some.

OK, first off you will need a clutch set up or your wasting your money. If you "dont ride hard" then stick with what you have.

Now to the list if you get the 120R Crate:
58MM throttle body
High flow injectors
SE heavy breather or other high flow a/c
D&D Fatcat Boss Boarzilla 2-1 exhaust
SE Race Clutch kit
SE race clutch plates
oil cooler
acr wiring harness
SEPST or tuning device of your choice
gaskets & oil
someone to dyno tune it
may as well order a new rear tire now
set aside a couple hundred bucks for gas cause your gonna want to ride this thing all the time

If you don't ride hard than it sounds like you just want to brag about your engine size. Save your money and just put 120R emblums on your stock engine.

Question SE120R. I looked in the barnett clutch box they returned to me with the stock clutch inside and there are brand new gold springs still in the box along with the old black springs. Shouldn't they have installed those gold springs?

I have the gold springs installed. Minimal slipping I've found.

I honestly cant answer that question as I don't have a Barnett clutch. Mine is the the SE Race clutch and disks. The only information I have on my clutch is that they set the pressure plates to hold 140 ft/lbs tq - there is a chart in the install instructions as to how many turns to set the springs to. I will say my clutch is very stiff but does not slip.

Found out they were an extra set with a different tension.
