Default Thinking about pulling the trigger on a RGU

Hey everyone,

Last weekend I finally had a chance to see a RGU in person at the dealer and I immediately fell in love with it. I already have an '09 Ultra with way too much $$$ into it to trade it in so I'm thinking about selling one of my other bikes and picking up a RGU. To me it just feels like the perfect two up bike. Lots more room with the fairing(not too cramped feeling) and feels pretty comfortable right out of the box.

Gonna sleep on it through the weekend but I'm thinking one is in my near future.

Someone has to nominate you..... then you have to learn the secret handshake..... then ..... well we'll save that for the initiation ceremony...... just hope they bring the lube next time.

DON'T DO IT!!!! They are not classic Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and Ultra Classic riders find them too responsive on twisty roads. UC riders also have difficulty with the extreme smoothness of the ride, especially on windy days with semis blowing by in the opposite direction - without the fatigue in their shoulders, these former UC riders don't know when to quit riding. Nearly all report maritial problems if they take it out solo, as they return home very late with an immense, satisfied grin on their faces - arrousing suspicion in their mate....

I know - I'm probably too late already - you've been exposed to an RGU. Doesn't matter which of your others you sell, 'cuz you'll be neglecting them all shortly...

I toyed with getting mine for over 2 weeks last December. Finally traded up from a '10 FatBob to and '11 RGU. Wish I hadn't wasted those 2 weeks. This is one of THE BEST things I have ever bought. Handles like a dream and is so smooth I forget I'm on a motorcycle sometimes. BTW I've only been riding for a year! Planning a St Augustine FL to Charleston SC trip on it in a few weeks for a job interview with Boeing.

Quit stalling and buy the damn thing already!!! Good luck and welcome to the shark tank!!

Make sure you test ride before you buy.

It's really cool for me to see so many guys on here having a good time ridin'.

I know....I have a batwing...but all of these problems you hear about them, I've never had.

Either way, if you want it, and can afford it, then I say DO IT.

Life is short.

(and I know the ribbing about batwing vs. fugly is in jest...we are all Harley guys.)

Don't wait too long before making up your mind.....
as it may not be waiting there on the showroom floor for long.

I think the RGU is a sweet machine, although between the two still lean more towards the Ultra Limited .. Thank God we have choices ..
