Smile Stealership Experience

I had a wierd thing going on with my turn signals; they would flash 4 time at the normal speed, then go crazy. I asked the service man at the local HD shop about it. He said that it was a trouble code or codes that were set. He went through a few steps on my speedo and wrote down the error codes. He later came back and said that the codes would all have to be investigated, problems fixed and the codes cleared. He didn't have an opening until next week, unfortunately we would not be in town. I said I could phone him upon our return and make an appointment. He said it could take anywhere from a few hours to a day to do this.
I came home and searched the forum for trouble diagnostic codes. I found the info I wanted and went downstairs and stepped the speedo through these codes and found they were "historic" codes. I cleared them and all is well. This info is not in the shop manual but it is in this forum.
Thanks HD Fourm, I'm glad to be a member.

I could be wrong but I seem to remember that if you have trouble codes stored, they will automatically clear after you have started your bike 50 times.

That's the power of Internet changing the oil and resetting service code wouldn't be possible on my wife's Mercedes without it. You can almost Google for any help these days.

That goop is called dielectirc compound. It stops corrosion but is not a conductor.
