Cams, cams, cams, I have a headache

My brother has a 05 SEEG with the 103 and he is running the rinehart truedual exhaust a PC3 and everything else to my knowledge is stock. He put in the Andrews 37H the 37 is the grind and H is for the conversion kit on his older style cam chains... I think... Anywho he got the bike back from dyno tune and 114.8 tq and 94 hp. Let me tell you it pulls hard from 2650 rpms all the way up with the flatest curve ive seen. Idont think the dyno is off either because i just got my 07 ultra with a 96" and with the woods 555 i got right at 98tq and 84hp which is right around what everyone else seems to be coming in at. So now you may have one more cam for you to ponder about for a little while. I wish i would have listened to my bro and went with the Andrews 37grind but the dyno is paid and the bike is still running good so what the hell... it can wait till i get the big bore and heads done before i change them again.... haha its only money

For my old 09 with 255's or new Limited with 254's? no on neither but plan on it by late June or early July with the 254's. Not sure of a highly recomended Dyno and Tuner in My area. Wife has been wantin to go up to Doore County Wis. so plan on stoppin in and seein Jamie at Fuel Moto , have some decent miles on the bike by then .

Well I think the thing for me is I don't really care that much about pulling hard to red line. What I do care about is low end torque, driving quality, and having some fun in the twisties, being the fastest guy red light to red light is nice but it's not an objective of this build. It's really about more of what I already have. A little more torque down low, a little more power up top. I don't need 110HP out of the thing because I rarely see north of 90MPH. I think the extra displacement, compression, and port work will accomplish these goals and I'll have a very rideable long distance worthy machine.

I see you are still struggling with this decision........... I still recommend you keep the
255's for your riding style, which you describe exactly the same as mine.
Best of luck in your choice. I wished you lived closer. You could come ride mine and help you make up your mind.
BTW, I have saw countless dyno sheets of cams that will build more max power to the right and will beat my build hands down at a top end drag race. I still like these cams for the instant tq at cruise rpm.
If you change your mind later, you can always go back into the bottem end for a cam swap.

I'm really leaning towards staying with them. I liked them a lot in the 96. Really the bike went from underwhelming new to man I like how this rides with the stage one and the 255s. I have just had so many people say no to the 255s it kind of gets to ya after a while. I am a big fan of sticking with what works for me and so far I have really liked them.

The BB kits flat top pistons have shown to produce a 9.6 CR. Unless your headbuilder is going to address the CR via head decking/thinner head gasket, the SE 211 cams couldnt be a worse choice for what your looking for. 10.3 to 10.5 CR would best and may be a stretch to attain without high compression pistons. Without the proper CR the 211's wont come on till 3000 RPMs so beware and maybe 20-25 lb/ft lower than the SE255 below 2500 rpms.

I like em was on the fence with them or woods 555's the SE where on back order before i could decide to cancel they showed up. real similar to the 255's ffigured were'nt many out there I'd try them figured I could change them next year if I did'nt like them curious to get it tuned and Dynoed. Keep tellin myself it's just a piece of paper but I can't help it gotta know
