Default real world info on FM 107 kit

how many trouble free miles on your kit?
if you didnt install comp releases do you regret it?
would you hesitate to leave home and travel across country?
Any concerns for DIY people?
Any regrets installing the 107?

Im guessing there isnt any issues going to 107 as I havent read anything bad on the www. We all know how problems get blown out of proportion on the internet..;-) Im just really interested in reliability of the 107. I spoke to S&S for a cam recomendation for their 106 kit and they suggested I just stay with the 96" and add the 551 cam. I currently have the se255 in my 96" and enjoy it but want more. Just dont want to lose lower end TQ. Sorry for yet another 107 thread, . Thanks for all the info you can provide. Yes I have read all the 107 threads that I pulled up when I used the search button.

I'll let you know at the end of the summer - for now the bike seems to be how it's supposed to be!

You'll be there one week after me. I'm in there on June 20. I'll make sure they clean the place up for you.

I guess the reliability question could be asked to anyone who has bored stock cylinders to 107. Could be people running Axtels, rev perf, Hillside, HQ, the list goes on of the builders doing it. I know there has to be people out there with plenty of miles on their 107s. The compression releases I guess is a no brainer since you have the heads off but if they arent needed could a guy get away with waiting until all head work was done? I really want to do this myself since its $900 I could put toward something else instead of labor. Is anyone else like me, after I did my cam install every little noise I heard I was worried I forgot something..LOL Can you imagine what it will be like after a BB kit. I have gotten over it but it took a week or two..;-)

Hey pitzz5, thats a helluva good looking King you got there. Looks like we've got about the same setup. I'd like to do the 107 as well but I'm scared the crank cant handle the power without being beefed up.
