Default mustang seat and hd backrest

Quick question...does the mustang super tour seat work with the HD adjustable rider backrest (2010 ultra)? I've already spent the $250 or so for the backrest and bracket and would just as soon keep it on the bike.

If it has the slot in the seat for a backrest it might fit. I have the wide touring seat and use the HD adjustable backrest.

I was under the impression the stock HD backrest setup will work on any of the Mustangs that have the opening for one. Call Mustang directly and give them the seat model number your looking at and they'll tell you for certain.

Excellent. The website has all kinds of information about the fit for the passenger backrest but no real details about the rider one.

Phone calls are not an option for the hearing impaired. I figured the forum would be just as fast as email to the company.

I was doing some checking awhile back and if I remember right it should work. The stock seat should work with HD and the Mustang rest.

At least MY Mustang Super Tourer has the slot for a backrest, but it is for the Mustang Backrest. The slot is a receptacle for the Mustang Backrest, and doesn't go all the way through to the frame. I've never had an HD backrest, but from the looks of them, there is a mount on the bike. I could be wrong.

I have the super touring seat and it does NOT work with the Harley Backrest. You HAVE to buy the Mustang backrest if you want one.

BTW, great seat!!!!!

And the "official" word from Mustang...

=============

No. The super touring seats come with an internal receiver to accept the Mustang driver backrest. These seats are made on a one-piece baseplate with no center opening for the stock HD frame-mounted driver backrest which you will have to permanently remove before installing the seat.
Thanks for your interest in Mustang and let us know if we can help you further.

Would that mean this is straight from the horse's mouth? LOL!
